Mar 19th CCI Opelika One Year Bible Reading 2010

3.19.10

Numbers 28:16-29:40

Luke 3:23-38

3:38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

John - The son of ADAM and the Son of God, this is POWERFUL I have never seen it this way before. All man, all God, to reconcile the two!

Psalm 62:1-12

62:11 God has spoken once,
Twice I have heard this:
That power belongs to God.
12 Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy;
For You render to each one according to his work.

John - Both power and mercy belong to God, remember He does render to us according to our work, there is a reaping and sowing component to our lives.

Proverbs 11:18-19

11:18 The wicked man does deceptive work,
But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.
19 As righteousness leads to life,
So he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.

John - Righteousness is the key to LIFE, it give you life and happiness as a by product of the relationship!

  1. Wow, I've never seen that either. I've always thought of Adam being created from God but I never thought of it as his son, which makes sense if you think about it.

  2. 10 “So it shall be, when the LORD your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, 11 houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant—when you have eaten and are full— 12 then beware, lest you forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

i can see why He would direct us this way. When a full heart has nothing else to lack in any desire, where can God come and show His provision? Interesting....
