John - God loved David and gave him the keys to blessing... keep my covenant.. in other words...obey!
Proverbs 29:24-25
2925 The fear of man brings a snare,
But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.
John - Trusting in the Lord is the key to safety, not personal protection strategies.
