Exodus 19:16-21:21

Matthew 23:13-39

23 ²⁵ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

John – Jesus is telling them to focus on BELIEF not BEHAVIOR, focus on what is on the inside NOT on the OUTSIDE!

Psalm 28:1-9

28 ⁸ The LORD is their strength,
And He is the saving refuge of His anointed.
⁹ Save Your people,
And bless Your inheritance;
Shepherd them also,
And bear them up forever.

John- God is our SAVING refuge, storms cannot penetrate His protection!

Proverbs 7:1-5

7 ¹ My son, keep my words,
And treasure my commands within you.
² Keep my commands and live,
And my law as the apple of your eye.
³ Bind them on your fingers;
Write them on the tablet of your heart.

John – Whatever we study and mediate on IS WRITTEN on the tablet of OUR heart!
