Mar 24th CCI Opelika One Year Bible Reading 2010

3.24.10

Deuteronomy 2-3:29
Luke 6:12-38

6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

John - THE POWER went out FROM Him... what God used was inside Jesus, what God wants to use in us is INSIDE us!

6:32 “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

John - What credit is that to you... so obviously God has a system of credits for things done in obedience. Also God has a reward system for following Him that is from simple to GREAT.

Psalm 67:1-7
Proverbs 11:27

27 He who earnestly seeks good finds favor,
But trouble will come to him who seeks evil.

John - SEEKING GOOD = FINDING FAVOR....

  1. For the Lord your God has blessed in you in all the work of your hand. He knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your GOd has been with you; you have lacked nothing.
    Deut. 2:7
Laura - God knows what we are experiencing every day - He understands our life and the things that are difficult for us. But He has blessed everything I touch, and He will not leave me, and I have lacked nothing as long as he has been with me.

  2. Do not meddle with them, for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as one footstep, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession Duet. 2:5

Laura - When God gives you something, it is His to guard and protect. What He establishes for us, He will watch over and protect for us. The land he gave to Esau was guarded by the words/covenant that God made to them.
