John - Paul encourages them to receive him, as they received Paul, BUT if they have anything against this brother... Paul says I will pay it... In this he encourages and reconciles... This is foundational in Gods work.

John - Paul reminded US to stir up Gods gift, like when we stir a pot of stew the aroma fills the room! God has not given us a spirit of fear (that is our choice to receive from the enemy) but He give us power (Gods power), Love (Agape Love) and sound mind (self-control).

That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
John - If we number our days (by knowing our days are limited) we MAY gain a heart of wisdom from God about how to use them.

John - Paul says I was formerly ALL these evil things, but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. As you look at your past make sure you see it clearly as Paul did, calling it what it was.. ignorant and unbelief, and walk newly in awareness and belief!

John- we don't have to be taught how to treat each other God shows us by how he loves us! Thats how we are to love others.

6 Do not exalt yourself in the presence of the king,
And do not stand in the place of the great;
7 For it is better that he say to you,
“ Come up here,”
Than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom your eyes have seen.
John- This teaches it is better to have others call to to a place of honor than to put yourself there and then be removed.

John - If you have a complaint...forgive them, Why? Because Christ forgave you.. this is something we MUST, not should, do!
