John- the only hope for man is Jesus Christ, who can stand between God and man and bring reconciliation.

19 Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble
Is like a bad tooth and a foot out of joint.
John - We need to be sure our confidence is in a faithful man when we are in trouble, not in unfaithful men who will not help in times of trouble.
