Leviticus 22:17-23:44
Mark 9:30-10:12
9;35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
John – Jesus’s leadership plan – BE First, you must be last and a servant of ALL!?! Wow… 100% different than this worlds definition.
Psalm 44:1-8
44: 8 In God we boast all day long,
And praise Your name forever. Selah
John – This is proper BOASTING… in God and we should do it ALL day long…
Proverbs 10:19
10:19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise.
John – In the multitude of words…. SIN is not lacking… We should learn to use less words..

Leviticus 20:22-22:16
Mark 9:1-29
9:2 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them.
John – Interesting Jesus only took 3 with Him for the amazing event, Jesus knew they were the one that would be faithful with this experience.
9:9 Now as they came down from the mountain, He commanded them that they should tell no one the things they had seen, till the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 So they kept this word to themselves, questioning what the rising from the dead meant.
John – WOW, we realize they walked with Jesus in the physical and still had questions about what He was saying.. its easy to think we would have known…. But do we not have questions now??
9: 28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”
John – “This kind” give us the insight that there are multiple kinds of spirits…. Nothing BUT is a powerful statement…. NOTHING???? Jesus said nothing… but prayer and fasting…. Who? I think Jesus was giving us some keys to powerful working… in prayer and fasting…
Psalm 43:1-5
Proverbs 10:18
10:18 Whoever hides hatred has lying lips,
And whoever spreads slander is a fool.
John – If you had hatred toward someone you have “lying lips”

Mark 8:11-38
8 27 Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say that I am?”
John – When we point this question to ourselves it is one of the most powerful questions we can answer, WHO IS JESUS?
Psalm 42:1-11
42 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.
John- God presence, just being before HIS face is help to us, we being to realize its more than Him changing our circumstances, but is Him allowing us to be close to Him and see who he really is!
Proverbs 10:17
17 He who keeps instruction is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction goes astray.
John – If we keep INSTRUCTION (discipline, chastening, correction) we ARE in the way of life. Sounds different than we think often…. We often think if we have fuzzy buddy friendships and easy believe-ism we are in “THE WAY” but that is not a full picture of Gods way… God puts us in relationships that challenge us and grow us.

28 And she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.”
29 Then He said to her, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”
John – Just said “For this saying..” what the woman said changed her life, not just her current situation but her life! It shows how important what we say is.”
Psalm 41:1-13
41 By this I know that You are well pleased with me,
Because my enemy does not triumph over me.
John – David said in this Psalm, this is how I know God is WELL pleased with me, my enemies DO NOT win… The Lord makes is victorious when we are pleasing to HIM!
Proverbs 10:15-16
10 15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city;
The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

Leviticus 15-16:28
Mark 7:1-23
7 15 There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.
John – Isn’t it interesting they were so concerned (as we are) about what we put in our bodies, even though it might be for different reasons, but Jesus cut through it all and said what is coming OUT of you is important! WOW! We should focus on what’s coming out of us more, that reveals our HEART not just our body!
Psalm 40:11-17
40 17 But I am poor and needy;
Yet the LORD thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Do not delay, O my God.
John – HOW exciting…. God thinks ABOUT me… It is amazing that the creator of the universe would have US on His mind!
Proverbs 10:13-14
10 14 Wise people store up knowledge,
But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
John – Wise people esteem or treasure up knowledge… Lets be WISE, store up and value knowledge that God has provided.

Mark 6:30-56
6 51 Then He went up into the boat to them, and the wind ceased. And they were greatly amazed in themselves beyond measure, and marveled. 52 For they had not understood about the loaves, because their heart was hardened.
John – They were amazed IN THEMSELVES beyond measure, and marveled. For the had not understood… because of their hearts being hard. Having a hard heart keeping you from understanding the things of God and keeps you searching for natural answers to spiritual problems.
Psalm 40:1-10
40 6 Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
My ears You have opened.
Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.
John – God does not want sacrifices He wants our heart, not the beating thing inside our bodies but the FOCUSED, ATTENTION and AFFECTION of our will.
Proverbs 10:11-12
10 11 The mouth of the righteous is a well of life,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

Mark 6:1-29
63 Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.
John – This is interesting even then people were associated by what they did for a living no who they were, and seeing Him do amazing things “THEY WERE OFFENED”
620 for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just and holy man, and he protected him. And when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
John – Herod feared John…. Knowing he was just and holy, what a testimony that even the leaders who didn’t agree with him knew his character.
Psalm 39:1-13
39 6 Surely every man walks about like a shadow;
Surely they busy themselves in vain;
He heaps up riches,
And does not know who will gather them.
John – Lord gives us a true perspective of who you are and what is worth spending our life on… ONLY YOU can help us see and know, what is worth spending our life on..

31 But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’”
John – This is an interesting look at Jesus, He knew power had left Him, but He asked who touched Him in the way to receive healing…
Psalm 38:1-22
38 21 Do not forsake me, O LORD;
O my God, be not far from me!

Proverbs 10:8-9
10 8 The wise in heart will receive commands,
But a prating fool will fall.
9 He who walks with integrity walks securely,

Psalm 37:30-40
37 Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright;
For the future of that man is peace.

Psalm 37:1-11

Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,

4 Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD,

And your justice as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;

28 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
John - Just a perplexing statement… they saw Him, worshiped Him…. But SOME doubted Him, we should never be surprised when someone is touched by God and then turns around and doubts Him, this was about people who were standing there with the risen LORD!
Psalm 34:11-22
34 15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
