Leviticus 16:29-18:30
Mark 7:24-8:10
7 27 But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”
28 And she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.”
29 Then He said to her, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”
John – Just said “For this saying..” what the woman said changed her life, not just her current situation but her life! It shows how important what we say is.”
Psalm 41:1-13
41 By this I know that You are well pleased with me,
Because my enemy does not triumph over me.
John – David said in this Psalm, this is how I know God is WELL pleased with me, my enemies DO NOT win… The Lord makes is victorious when we are pleasing to HIM!
Proverbs 10:15-16
10 15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city;
The destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 The labor of the righteous leads to life,
The wages of the wicked to sin.
John – The work of the righteous mans hands bring LIFE to him!
I agree. My translation says she was a Syrophoenician, "a despised Gentile"so she had to have great faith even to approach Jesus. It also says she "fell at his feet" a sign of humility. I think not only "what" she said, but how she said it and the humble spirit she displayed changed her life & allowed her to obey when Jesus said "go home, the demon has left her". With no evidence, it goes on to say "and when she arrived home, her daughter was lying quietly in bed & the demon was gone." Isn't God amazing!
