Daniel 5:1-31
523 And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.
John - “the God who holds your breath in His hands and owns all your ways...”, this is a powerful description of our GOD! Think of it every breathe HE holds, and He OWNS your ways.
2 Peter 2:1-22
221 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
John - It is better to never have know the truth, thank to know it and turn away from it afterwards. You are accountable for what you know.
Proverbs 28:19-20
2820 A faithful man will abound with blessings,
But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.
John - faithful (stability in fulfilling promises) will abound in blessings (prosperity, extremely fortune and happy) … but... he who hastens (press, urge oneself, withdraw for) the purpose to be rich (to put together, build up for ONESELF) will not go unpunished (exempt from obligation and innocent)

Daniel 5:23 The essence of idolatry is, man's attempt to create something greater than himself in order that he may become greater. If the lesser made that which is to be greater, then how could the greater ever become great when it was created by one lesser. These gods then are only great by imagination. Our God is great and he saved the lesser and was there before we ever were. In him we live, move and have our being. We see the wonders of His hand daily.
