98 the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. 9 It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience—

John – Doing actions based on tradition cannot, and never will make the one performing them have a CLEAN conscience, only Christ can do this through His own blood.

2710 Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend, Nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity; 
 Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.

John – It is better to have a friend that is close enough to help than a brother who would help but is so far away he cant get to you when you need it.
