John - Elders (advanced in life) who rule well should be worthy of double honor (reverence) especially those who labor in Gods word and teaching it.

2526 A righteous man who falters before the wicked Is like a murky spring and a polluted well.
John - A righteous man who falters (to be greatly shaken) in the presence of the unrighteous, is like a source of nourishment that doesn't fulfill its God given purpose.

ReplyDeleteProv. 25:26 A righteous man faltering before the wicked brings open shame opon the body. Though he may desire to speak again, who will hear him, since now he has been labeled a failure.The body suffers along with him.
