John - Worship causes some people to despise those who are worshiping the Lord, because of the condition of THEIR heart.

Romans 1:18-32

1 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

John - Today’s trouble exchanging the truth of God for the LIE of worshiping and serving the creature instead of the creator.

Psalm 10:1-15
Proverbs 19:6-7

19 6 Many entreat the favor of the nobility,
And every man is a friend to one who gives gifts.
7 All the brothers of the poor hate him;
How much more do his friends go far from him!
He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him.
