2 Corinthians 10:1-18

212 For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

John - If you use others who use themselves as the measuring stick instead of Christ as your measure you are not being wise.

Psalm 52:1-9
Proverbs 22:26-27

2226 Do not be one of those who shakes hands in a pledge,
One of those who is surety for debts;
27 If you have nothing with which to pay,
Why should he take away your bed from under you?

John - Dont make loans if you have no ability to pay.

  1. 2 Cor. 2:12 Christ should always be the standard by which we live by, while the law helps us to recognize where success and failure is.

  2. Prov. 22:26,27 Co-signing for a friend's loan says, if my friend doesn't repay I will. Each individual must be accountable for securing his own personal debt.
