216 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

John - Inside of everyone is a desire to work to be justified, but God in His loving kindness said it was by FAITH and that alone are we made whole!

Psalm 59:1-17
Proverbs 23:13-14

2313 Do not withhold correction from a child,
For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.

John - This scripture is clear do not withhold correction..... God loving us, He will operate the same way.
