9:⁵⁵ But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. ⁵⁶ For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.”

John - The disciples wanted to use Gods power to defend Jesus, and Jesus said they didn't know what manner of spirit they WERE, what their CORE was, Jesus said the spirit of God is here to SAVE lives NOT destroy them!

Psalm 74:1-23
Proverbs 12:11

12¹¹ He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread,
But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.

John - A man who works the thing God has given him, will be satisfied with the results of it. If you operate in frivolity you are devoid of understanding.
