CCI Opelika One Year Bible Reading 2010
4.6.10
Deuteronomy 29-30:20
Luke 11:37-12:7
11:39 Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness. 40 Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also? 41 But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.
John - Rather... than clean the outside of the cup, GIVE ALMS, of what you have and indeed ALL things are clean TO you! Not just the outside but also the inside.
Psalm 78:1-31
78:20 Behold, He struck the rock,
So that the waters gushed out,
And the streams overflowed.
Can He give bread also?
Can He provide meat for His people?”
21 Therefore the LORD heard this and was furious;
So a fire was kindled against Jacob,
And anger also came up against Israel,
22 Because they did not believe in God,
And did not trust in His salvation.
John - When the children of Israel started asking Can He give bread, Can He provide meat, God heard it and was furious! Because they did not trust in his salvation or believe in Him.... GOD CAN.... This is the start... KNOWING HE CAN! Then the second part is BELIEVING He will....
Proverbs 12:19-20
12:19 The truthful lip shall be established forever,
But a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
But counselors of peace have joy.
John - Truth is an establishing, eternal thing, not a temporary fad or idea. When we speak truth we are ESTABLISHING things eternally.

Luke 11 We should never try to appear holy but be holy. Holiness gives and it gives from a cheerful heart and not grudgingly. We should "dress for success" but let it be from the inside out not the outside in, this is God's ultimate plan for our lives.
ReplyDeletePsalm 78 We must actually understand who struck the rock, Moses did in the natural but God did in the supernatural. The same God who gave us water from our rock, whatever your rock may be, can also give sustenance to fill and sustain in everything. God has to proven himself to us time and time again even personally; for us to question if he can is an insult to his integrity.
ReplyDeleteProverbs 12 The things of God are eternal and truth is eternal and eternal things last forever. One who lies operates on things that are temporal and the temporal only satisfies for the moment and is never fulfilling.Joy fills the heart of one who trusts God enough to forsake himself and resist the deceitful lies of the flesh, the world and the devil.
