CCI Opelika One Year Bible Reading 2010

4.27.10

Judges 7-8:17
Luke 23:13-43

23: 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
And they divided His garments and cast lots.

John - Jesus asked Father to forgive the people crucifying Him, because they knew not what they were doing... WHAT GREAT FORGIVENESS, WHAT GREAT LOVE!

Psalm 97-98:9
Proverbs 14:7-8

14:7 Go from the presence of a foolish man,
When you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way,
But the folly of fools is deceit.

John - Our lips SO often reveal what we have either knowledge or foolishness, listen to what you say, let the Lord teach you and in other leave the foolish man to his own destruction, he will not listen.

  1. Judges 8:22-23 How interesting to me that we will still put our faith in a man to rule over us instead of the Lord. Gideon recognized this and immediately said, no I will not but the Lord will.

  2. Luke 24:12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; stooping down , he saw the linen clothes, marveling to himself at what had happened!! Praise God! Don't just read this and think to yourself how Peter must have felt, ask God to show you this revelation daily so that you can always marvel at what Jesus has done. HE ROSE FROM THE GRAVE!!!! and When He did, we received life everlasting. In the midst of your day when you might be wondering why am I having this or that happen to me. Or Has God forgotten me? Replace those thoughts with the fact that not only has God NOT forgot you He has provided for you with the greatest offering available, His Son. Just sit still long enough to Marvel at what all God has done for you, worship Him and you will receive the encouragement that Peter did that day at the tomb.
