CCI Opelika One Year Bible Reading 2010
5.31.10
2 Samuel 17:1-29
John 19:23-42
19:28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
John - I cant help but think when I read this scripture about the woman at the well, notice Jesus said He thirst, at this moment He experienced everything sin is, He felt what the woman at the well felt, then He completed His work so you can have a well to drink from that you will NEVER thirst again!
Psalm 119:129-152
Proverbs 16:12-13
16:12 It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness,
For a throne is established by righteousness.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings,
And they love him who speaks what is right.
John - Gods words shows us that to establish something "do it by righteousness" or it will not be established, wickedness is like the plant that is here today and gone tomorrow, it is short lived, righteousness is true and eternal.
