Deuteronomy 16-17:20
17:7 The hands of the witnesses shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall put away the evil from among you.
John - Interesting they would make the person who made the accusation follow through with the punishment.
Luke 9:7-27
9:14 For there were about five thousand men.
Then He said to His disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of fifty.” 15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.
John - Notice Jesus had them sit down in small groups... Small groups were used throughout the movement of the New Testament.
Psalm 72:1-20
Proverbs 12:8-9
12:8 A man will be commended according to his wisdom,
But he who is of a perverse heart will be despised.

Luke 8:40-9:6
9: 1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
John - Jesus GAVE power and authority... when He sent them out he had them PREACH and HEAL, this is powerful. From power they preached, from authority, they healed.
Psalm 71:1-24
71: 24 My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long;
For they are confounded,
For they are brought to shame
Who seek my hurt.
John - confound - to be ashamed, disconcerted, disappointed

But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

Deuteronomy 11-12:32
11:22 “For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him— 23 then the LORD will drive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess greater and mightier nations than yourselves. 24 Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory.
John - When you CAREFULLY obey God and walk in all His ways..... HE WILL DRIVE OUR and you will DISPOSSESS great and mightier things than yourself!
Luke 8:22-39
8:24 And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!”
Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 But He said to them, “Where is your faith?”
And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”
John - Jesus gets right to the point, WHERE IS YOUR FAITH? We should know here our faith is, if we through circumstances of life know where our faith is when things happen we will GO to where our faith is.... Look to where our faith is... that why it is so important to know where it is!
Psalm 70:1-5
Proverbs 12:4
4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.
John - excellent -strength, might, efficiency, wealth, arm... what descriptions of excellent the bible has!

8:11 “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
John - Interestly enough they HEAR but then what they heard gets TAKEN away..before they believe and are saved.
Psalm 69:19-36
69:33 For the LORD hears the poor,
And does not despise His prisoners.
John - poor- subject to oppression and abuse, in this passage you can take comfort that God hears you... And if He hears you He will work through where you are!
Proverbs 12:2-3
12:2 A good man obtains favor from the LORD,
But a man of wicked intentions He will condemn.
3 A man is not established by wickedness,
But the root of the righteous cannot be moved.
John - A good, pleasant, agreeable man... obtains (receives) FAVOR from the Lord.... It is important to be open in relationships with others and God because out of it flows FAVOR!

John - 1000 generations!! WOW, God is good.
Luke 7:36-8:3
7:47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”

John - I see something AMAZING in this.. the blind needed to see, the lame needed to walk, the leper needed cleansing, the deaf need to hear, the dead need to be raised to life again..... BUT the poor... needed the GOSPEL preached to them! Not money... not gold... but the gospel!!
Psalm 68:19-35
35 O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places.
The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people.
John - It is obvious, but great to reaffirm GOD is greater than the places He created... Ex. the Grand Canyon, Oceans, the universe!
Proverbs 11:29-31
11: 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
And he who wins souls is wise.
31 If the righteous will be recompensed on the earth,
How much more the ungodly and the sinner.
John - The righteous is like a tree that continues to to bear fruit OVER and OVER in seasons.. And he who WINS souls is wise..
recompensed - is caused to be at peace as compensation what do you think the compensation for the ungodly is?

6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart[a] brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
John - Our hearts hold treasures, what ever we have placed there, and out of our heart comes all kind of stored items that show up on our lips!
Psalm 68:1-18
68:18 You have ascended on high,
You have led captivity captive;
You have received gifts among men,
Even from the rebellious,
That the LORD God might dwell there.
John - The Lord dwells in the place of His people, even with the example of Israel, when they are rebellious. What grace God has!
Proverbs 11:28
11:28 He who trusts in his riches will fall,
But the righteous will flourish like foliage.

Deuteronomy 2-3:29
Luke 6:12-38
6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.
John - THE POWER went out FROM Him... what God used was inside Jesus, what God wants to use in us is INSIDE us!
6:32 “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. 35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
John - What credit is that to you... so obviously God has a system of credits for things done in obedience. Also God has a reward system for following Him that is from simple to GREAT.
Psalm 67:1-7
Proverbs 11:27
27 He who earnestly seeks good finds favor,
But trouble will come to him who seeks evil.

6:3 But Jesus answering them said, “Have you not even read this, what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: 4 how he went into the house of God, took and ate the showbread, and also gave some to those with him, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat?”
John - Jesus always pointed them back to the truth, connecting it with what they knew was in the word. God still connects us to the truth this is one reason its so important to take in His word..
Psalm 66:1-20
66: 13 I will go into Your house with burnt offerings;
I will pay You my vows,
14 Which my lips have uttered
And my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble.
John - When we are in trouble we promise God all kind of things, don't be quick to utter things to God because He will expect you to follow through them, if you do make a vow...DO IT!
Proverbs 11:24-26
11:24 There is one who scatters, yet increases more;
And there is one who withholds more than is right,
But it leads to poverty.
25 The generous soul will be made rich,
And he who waters will also be watered himself.
26 The people will curse him who withholds grain,
But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
John - WOW, scattering you INCREASE, withholding more than right leads you to poverty. You can see Gods system is exactly opposite of the thought process of the main stream.

5:17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
John - The presence of the power doesnt mean the person receives the healing, BUT the have the opportunity if they believe... they receive....
Psalm 65:1-13
65:5 By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us,
O God of our salvation,
You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth,

John - By awesome deeds in righteousness, and to think what God's "awesome" is, not my awesome but far, far beyond... He created the universe and everything in it HIS awesome is TRULY awesome....
Proverbs 11:23
11:23 The desire of the righteous is only good,
But the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

Luke 4:31-5:11
4: 39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.
John - Jesus rebuked the fever, this is interesting I have never thought to just rebuke a fever instead of try to find a way to medicate it or sleep it off. Jesus is awesome!
5:11 So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.
John - This is the pattern... "they forsook all!" God help us see the power in these words..
Psalm 64:1-10
Proverbs 11:22

Luke 4:1-30
4:3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
6 And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”
9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:
‘ He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you,’
11 and,
‘ In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”
John - 3 times the enemy tried to get Jesus to sin by meeting His hunger, serving His desire to lead, or showing His protection from God, BUT Jesus responded with scripture... interesting with the WORD the enemy tried to use the WORD, with us is it possible the enemy would try to use the word??
Psalm 63:1-11
63: 6 When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
7 Because You have been my help,

Proverbs 11:20-21

Psalm 62:1-12
62:11 God has spoken once,
Twice I have heard this:

Proverbs 11:18-19
11:18 The wicked man does deceptive work,
But he who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.

Proverbs 11:16-17
11: 17 The merciful man does good for his own soul,

John – This is a great example, even though Jesus CREATED everything, He was subject to His mother… Even though He knew more, controlled more, and was sin less He sat under HER authority! WOW!
Also I love Mary had a treasure chest of things she kept in her heart about JESUS! Lastly even under Mary’s authority, without preaching, teaching and healing…. He increased in wisdom, stature, and in favor with GOD and men! If He did it SO CAN WE!

John – Simeon knew that he would see with his eyes the Lords Christ before he died, what an example of God fulfilling His words and a mans desire, whatever Gods word is for you, YOU will not see death until you complete it!
Psalm 59:1-17
59: 17 To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises;

16: 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Numbers 8-9:23
9: 23 At the command of the LORD they remained encamped, and at the command of the LORD they journeyed; they kept the charge of the LORD, at the command of the LORD by the hand of Moses.
John – They followed Gods path but didn’t obey His principles, their attitude and actions in the small things derailed them!
Mark 13:14-37
13: 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”
John – WATCH is what Jesus said to all, this is an active looking, checking, seaching, engaged in our masters work.
Psalm 50:1-23
50: 14 Offer to God thanksgiving,
And pay your vows to the Most High.
15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
John – OFFER to God thanksgiving, this is a GREAT gift, not a small one, in doing so we are transformed, renewed, focused and God is glorified!
Proverbs 10:29-30
10: 29 The way of the LORD is strength for the upright,
But destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.
30 The righteous will never be removed,
But the wicked will not inhabit the earth.
John – The “WAY” of the Lord IS strength, we are strengthened on the journey of the Lord, it changes us…

Numbers 6-7:89
Mark 12:38-13:13
13: 7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.
John – Jesus said when you hear of these things DO NOT BE TROUBLED, for such things must happen…
Psalm 49:1-20
49: 16 Do not be afraid when one becomes rich,
When the glory of his house is increased;
17 For when he dies he shall carry nothing away;
His glory shall not descend after him.
18 Though while he lives he blesses himself
(For men will praise you when you do well for yourself),
John – So often the desire to be rich, or do well for your self is the DESIRE to be praise by others more than the desire for STUFF, we all want to be valuable in the eyes of others.
Proverbs 10:27-28
10: 28 The hope of the righteous will be gladness,
But the expectation of the wicked will perish.
John – This is comforting, that our HOPE “will be” gladness, not could be, would be, should be, but WILL BE!
