3.26.10

Deuteronomy 5-6:25
Luke 7:11-35

7:22 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. 23 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

John - I see something AMAZING in this.. the blind needed to see, the lame needed to walk, the leper needed cleansing, the deaf need to hear, the dead need to be raised to life again..... BUT the poor... needed the GOSPEL preached to them! Not money... not gold... but the gospel!!

Psalm 68:19-35

35 O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places.
The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people.

John - It is obvious, but great to reaffirm GOD is greater than the places He created... Ex. the Grand Canyon, Oceans, the universe!

Proverbs 11:29-31

11: 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
And he who wins souls is wise.

31 If the righteous will be recompensed on the earth,
How much more the ungodly and the sinner.

John - The righteous is like a tree that continues to to bear fruit OVER and OVER in seasons.. And he who WINS souls is wise..

recompensed - is caused to be at peace as compensation what do you think the compensation for the ungodly is?

  1. Luke 7 Jesus sent this report to John in regards to his question "Are you the One" Jesus responds by telling John's disciples go tell.Truly our lives are to be a reflection of God's amazing love and grace however, he does say to us "go and tell them" what you have both seen and heard. Those who hear and believe will be blessed.

  3. Prov 11 When i think of fruit i always imagine the tree first. This proverb speaks of fruit producing the tree.I am reminded that except a seed go into the ground and die it is incapable of yielding any fruit. It takes a seed planted to die and push out of the ground into a tiny plant which grows into a tree which yields fruit again, but not just any fruit but fruit after it's own kind.
