Mar 30th CCI Opelika One Year Bible Reading 2010

3.30.10

Deuteronomy 13-15:23
Luke 8:40-9:6

9: 1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

John - Jesus GAVE power and authority... when He sent them out he had them PREACH and HEAL, this is powerful. From power they preached, from authority, they healed.

Psalm 71:1-24

71: 24 My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long;
For they are confounded,
For they are brought to shame
Who seek my hurt.

John - confound - to be ashamed, disconcerted, disappointed

Proverbs 12:5-7

12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are right,
But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

John - thoughts - device, plan, purpose,
invention

  1. 15 My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness
    And Your salvation all the day,
    For I do not know their limits.

    Speak and believe, I should not be paralyzed by any limits produced by my own thinking.

  2. 1 In You, O LORD, I put my trust;
    Let me never be put to shame.
    2 Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape;
    Incline Your ear to me, and save me.
    3 Be my strong refuge,
    To which I may resort continually;
    You have given the commandment to save me,
    For You are my rock and my fortress.

    It seems that David continually follows the same pattern of praising God, seeking God,Listening to God, acknowledging God, and then Praising God again.

    praise > seek > listen > acknowledge > praise

  5. Prov. 12 It is my thoughts that begin to shape my character and then it is my character that begins to shape my thoughts. As a man thinks so is he.Avoid a man that's cruel and not submissive for his ways are futile and his walk unjust, his vision is unclear and counsel unapproved.
