16: 12 After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
John – We are talking about disciples here, they DID NOT BELIEVE, so give yourself a break when you struggle with believing, even the ones who knew Jesus and lived with Him struggled, it doesn’t disqualify you!
16: 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
John – JESUS said this.
Psalm 55:1-23
55: 12 For it is not an enemy who reproaches me;
Then I could bear it.
Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me;
Then I could hide from him.
13 But it was you, a man my equal,
My companion and my acquaintance.
14 We took sweet counsel together,
And walked to the house of God in the throng.
John- This shows us the fact that often times people we had sweet fellowship with and walk with God along side, can turn and be our enemy if they choose to walk away from Gods plan, they will also be walking away from Gods people.
Proverbs 11:7
11: 7 When a wicked man dies, his expectation will perish,
And the hope of the unjust perishes.

ReplyDeleteThe word here is "expectation" Jesus had already told his follower he would die and on the third day rise again.The thing that frustrated their expectaion was their interpretation or belief of what he meant when he said in three days I will rise again.Unaware of His presence the discples walked along with a total familiar stranger, they had known him yet they did not recognize him because of their preconceived ideas or thoughts about what he meant.Now be the importance of teaching and training in God's word, because you cannot go where you don't know and what i interpet or believe or even think God is saying will have a profound effect on my life and the life of others. "LET IT BE TRUTH NOT AN IDEA"
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Psalm 55 I don't know which is worse secret love or an exposed enemy.How the arrows of an unseen loveone pierces the soul, they go deep and deeper.The thing that I think makes an offence from a friend so hurtful is you were taken totally off guard. We have our guard up with our enemies and the abusive, yet with a friend we are more open, secure, inviting, trusting and relaxed in our souls.Hence if an enemy reproaches or offens us it seems not so harmful but when it's a friend or trusted alli we seem to fall to pieces simply because of; here comes tha"t word again, our "expectation".We must allow truth to be our guide and not our feelings or emotions and truth says offences are going to come but it didn't say who those offences would come through just know they are comming.So we must be on guard with truth and not our emotions. This is not to say it wont hurt it just makes the healing better.

ReplyDeletei don't think i have ever read this in this way...He (the Holy Spirit) descended in bodily form....amazing!! He is the great Comforter!!

---i can't wait to see Him as my Great reward...He alone is worth following after. Even if it is the only reward i recieve, He is still all i want in this life and it is still the most joyous and fulfilling reward given to man.
