Numbers 30-31:54
Luke 4:1-30
4:3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
6 And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”
9 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:
‘ He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you,’
11 and,
‘ In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”
John - 3 times the enemy tried to get Jesus to sin by meeting His hunger, serving His desire to lead, or showing His protection from God, BUT Jesus responded with scripture... interesting with the WORD the enemy tried to use the WORD, with us is it possible the enemy would try to use the word??
Psalm 63:1-11
63: 6 When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
7 Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
John - All we have to do is look back over our lives and WE CAN SEE that the HELP of the Lord is ALL over our lives...
Proverbs 11:20-21
11:20 Those who are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD,
But the blameless in their ways are His delight.
John - WOW!! TO be Gods delight, what a great thought that becomes greater the more we walk with HIM!

Luke4 The enemy states to Christ "If you are" The fleshly temptation here is since you are believed to be the son of God then prove it by doing this act to make ME believe You. We must be careful of being so intimidated by others criticism or judgements that we set out to prove them wrong. What Satan offered Christ in return was just empty promises in exchange for jumping out and adhering to pride by proving himself. The really crazy thing is that in return for this unnecessary miracle Satan offered in exchange to give Jesus that which he came to take away from him and return it to the rightful heirs, that's you and me.
ReplyDeletePsalm 63 The Psalmist remembered the Lord. I believe to remember something or someone in thought most often happens involuntarily, in other words we didn't solicit the thought or go roaming our minds to pull it out. However to meditate is a choice and the writer choose to think and to ponder on the Lord.
ReplyDeleteProverbs 11 What is the distinguishing difference between the two; only the blood of Jesus. The blood of Christ cleanses us and makes us free from sin and death and we are the righteous of God and we stand before him blameless. It is by faith that we are saved and it is a gift from God. However, our faith is proved by our works and it is in these works that we are rewarded. And what is the thing God delights in the most; it is when i believe him.
