3:8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
John - He is telling them, dont think it is your RIGHT, God can raise up His children from even ROCKS! Abraham was a man of faith, you do like wise and then you will BEAR FRUITS! Even in the old testament it is look at the fruit and your can tell its root!
Psalm 61:1-8
61:8 So I will sing praise to Your name forever,
That I may daily perform my vows.
John - Daily vow preforming and praising are interwoven, we must do them DAILY!
Proverbs 11:16-17
11: 17 The merciful man does good for his own soul,
But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
John - When we think of being merciful, we think it is about others and doing them good, BUT this shows us being merciful does our SOUL (Mind, Will, and Emotions) Good!!

Looking at Proverbs 11:16, "A gracious woman retains honor", makes me think of my Great Grandmother. She spent her life being gracious and serving others. She is well remembered and honored in my thoughts. I believe that God also gives honor to this woman! She is a builder, not a demolition expert. She serves, not expecting to be served. She loves with no limits. May I be this type of representation of God with anyone that encounters me!

ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! Nothing greater had happened since the creation of the HEAVENS than when man HEARD God's voice and did not die!!! It shows how He truly desires to speak to us yet keeps us from His consuming fire!! I LOVE hearing God's voice and I believe He speaks to His children TODAY!!!
LUKE 7:7 Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed.
Oh the faith to believe JUST THE WORD!!! The beautiful web of trust...If we could only come to Jesus with this faith to believe that WHEN HE SPEAKS, the earth truly moves!!!
